Cambridge Harriers in association with the Mitavite International Horse Trial are pleased to announce details of the inaugural Newstalk ZB Fools and Horses Fun Run being held in aid of Variety the Children's Charity.
The Newstalk ZB Fools & Horses Fun Run is a new, exciting and totally unique challenge. It is a 5km run or walk over a world-class equestrian cross country course with participants having to negotiate logs, climb walls and splash through water obstacles! The 5km loop will start and finish in the main arena of one of New Zealand's premier equestrian events, the Mitavite International Horse Trial.

Who can enter?
The Newstalk ZB Fools and Horses Fun Run is open to runners and walkers of all ages and abilities. It is ideal for serious runners as well as those who want to take it slower and have a heap of fun along the way. You can either enter as an individual or as part of a team, you can even do it in fancy dress!
Where is it being held?
Kihikihi Domain, Kihikihi, near Te Awamutu.
Carparking is available off Dick Street.

When is it?
The fun-run starts at 10am on Sunday 6 April 2008. The serious runners will be released first followed soon after by the fun runners and walkers. Registrations will be taken from 9am on the day of the fun-run but please register your intention to participate by filling in the form at the bottom of this page.

How much does it cost to enter?
Only $2 per runner/walker.
How can I support Variety the Children's Charity?
Variety is a fun and active charity who provides support to New Zealand children who are sick, disabled or disadvantaged. Participants in the Newstalk ZB Fools & Horses Fun Run are asked to make a donation or collect sponsorship for Variety. Click here to download a sponsorship form.
Will there be any horses on the course?
No. Although the Newstalk ZB Fools & Horses Fun Run includes obstacles from an equestrian cross country, the horses will have completed the course the day before!
Are there any prizes?
There will be a prize for the first participant returning to the main arena as well as a number of fantastic spot prizes for many others. The Ford Motor Company have put up a double pass to the Hamilton 400 V8 Supercar Race!
Are there any rules?
With an emphasis on fun, the rules are simple! Keep to the marked track and follow any instructions of officials. Children under the age of 12 should be accompanied by an adult. Participants enter at their own risk and are responsible for their own wellbeing.
What's going on after the fun-run?
After the Fun Run participants are free to enjoy the final day of the Mitavite International Horse Trial. This includes showjumping, a classic car display, music and a trade and food village.
