La Leche (pronounced "La Lay-chay") League is a voluntary organisation which offers information and support to women who want to breastfeed their babies.
We meet from 10am on the FOURTH Wednesday of every month in the Kindergarten Room, St Andrews Church Hall on Mutu Street. The meetings are informal, and facilitated by trained Group Leaders who are experienced breastfeeding mothers and familiar with the current breastfeeding research. Morning tea is provided, and all mothers, babies and toddlers are welcome.
We also have a library of books which you can borrow, on a range of topics including childbirth, breastfeeding, parenting and nutrition.
For more information about La Leche League, or if you have questions regarding breastfeeding, please contact either Carolyn Hirst - 871 8888 or Mandy Clifton - (07) 823 6522 (Ohaupo).
