Officer of the Day Duties

1.     Sign in
Set the sign in/results book up.  Date, series, sail number, class, skippers name are all essential.
Ensure all skippers sign in accurately.

2.     Start and finish times

Record finish times for each yacht, or finish position in a single class race (eg. Laser).
Ensure that all writing is clear and results recorded accurately.

3.     Course setting
On the lake determine the wind direction.  A flag or the patrol boat direction at anchor provides a good guide.

Check that there is sufficient navigable water at each mark.
Have the start line perpendicular to the wind, if any bias slightly to the port end of the line.
