Fast fun racer cruiser, but time to look for something bigger. We’ve owned Taiko for four years, and been first to Coramandel, and highly placed in the Round Waiheke, Joker Champs and Ngaroto club racing.
We’ explored Kawhia Harbour, moored in Te Kouma and Coramandel, sailed to Happy Jack and beyond.
In the last two years, I have fitted four new Spinlock jamming cleats ($160 each), harken traveller, (don’t ask) installed new Navman, LED navigation and anchor lights, replaced various ropes and running gear. Stainless steel pull and pushpit, filled and painted the centreboard, new 6hp Mercury motor (less than 20 Hours). There is also VHF, 406 EPIRB, fire extinguisher and miscellaneous tools.
The interior has LED and halogen lights, new squabs, but basic cooking facilities.
The trailer is braked. galvanised, long reach, bearing buddies and the brakes were recently overhauled and pads replaced.
