Notice of Race

1.0 Rules

  1. 1The regatta will be governed by the ‘rules’ as defined in the Yachting New Zealand Racing Rules of Sailing 2005 – 2008.
  2. 2The following prescriptions of the YNZ Safety Regulations Part 1 shall apply.
  3. 3Changes to Rules: Will be notified in the Sailing Instructions. Notices will be posted on the official notice board by 0930 hours on the day it is to take effect from.
  1. 3 Eligibility and Entry
    1. 31.The regatta is open to all centre-board class boats and trailer yachts and helmspersons who are members of a yacht club affiliated to Yachting New Zealand
    2. 32. Advance entries will be accepted until the normal closing date of 25 October, by attaching the attached entry form/s accompanied by a fee to the above postal address.

5.0 Fees

  1. 1$15 for junior class sailors and $30 for senior and two-man classes
  1. 7 Schedule of Events.

9.0 Sailing Instructions

The Sailing Instructions will be available at Registration.

10. 2 Racing will be held on the water of Lake Karapiro in Lake

zones 5 & 6

  1. 11 Courses to be Sailed

The courses to be sailed will be trapezoid, a windward leeward course or a windward leeward triangle course.

13.0 Scoring

  1. 1The Low Points Scoring System of Appendix A will apply.
  2. 23 races are required to be completed to constitute the day’s racing.
  3. 3(a) When fewer than 3 races have been completed, a boat’s series score will be the total of her race scores.
  4. 4Open class races will be scored on handicap.
  1. 14 Support Boats

Will be permitted, but not within 30metres of a course during

a race.

19.0 Prizes

The following prizes will be awarded:

  • Prizes will be given to the first 2 places of each class.
  • Spot prizes will be drawn at the prize-giving for all sailors who have entered the day’s racing.
