Principals

The first ever Headteacher was Mr P. Herlihy from June 1902 -June 1919. The Principal now is Kathryn Turner.

The big move

Parawera School was moved to moved to Mellsop Road in Parawera because of the shift in population and it reopened in Feburary 1932. It was also remodelled with bigger windows so that the children could see the traffic on the main road.

Getting to School

The children used to go to school on horses. The children used to have to go to school no matter what the weather was like. Sometimes a group of people used to come on one big horse they went up a hill and the last person fell off. Where our pool is now, is where they used to tie their horses.
