Parawera School is currently a U1, two teacher contributing primary school with a roll of 28-40.

The school was opened in 1902

There are three classrooms, a library, a swimming pool, an adventure playground, large grassed playing fields and sealed tennis courts.

The school also has access to the local Parawera Hall which is adjacent to the school grounds..

The school recieves strong community support, has an active Board of Trustees and a dedicated permanent teaching staff.
