We are aiming to prepare our students for the information age that is upon us.  We believe using I.C.T.s will provide motivation for students to develop the necessary skills to build life long learning.  Children today will have a a different future to those of their parents and grandparents and will not train for just one career. 

At Pekerau School students will become:

Flexible and adaptable thinkers, developing problem solvers and risk takers.

Self directed learners, able to work independently and reflectively, therefore work towards life long learning.

Effective communicators/collaborators, to communicate and collaborate confidently and effectively in a variety of contexts and situations.<

Using I.C.T gives us the ability to created an environment where the learning extends beyond the classroom to encompass the wider community, thus enriching the learning opportunities available to our students.

Using I.C.T. will also increase the efficiency of administration and record keeping in our classroom and school.

Our new Helen  Robertson Learning Centre is set up to accomodate 18 computers.  We also have an Interwrite interactive whiteboard.  Each classroom has 2 computers that are also linked.  Students are able to use these to enrich and enhance their own learning.  The Learning Centre consists of a well stocked library, digital classroom, audio visual 'green' room and resource room.  See our Fairgo ad 2009 here  (Our first attempt here)
