If you have adopted a dog from us and would like to send us a photo and a little story about their new life, we would love to include it on our site.

Thankyou so much to all the wonderful families that have adopted dogs from us. The pictures above are some of the dogs that have been rehomed more recently.

I thought you might like to have an update on Zena who we got from you back in March. After a few days of running around like an idiot she has settled into life on the farm like she has always been there. She gets along well with our cats and has a really gentle nature. Recently, we had a lamb stuck in a cave beside the river. Zena came down with the rest of the farm dogs when we went to try and get it out. None of the dogs were interested in helping when the lamb couldn't get out of the fast flowing river. Zena swam out, grabbed the lamb and started pulling it through the water. At first we thought she was trying to drown it but to our amazement she pulled it all the way across to a spot where the lamb could get out. Only then did she let it go. As you would expect she had lots of praise over the next few days.
However I had come around the front of the house a few weeks earlier to find paper everywhere. I yelled out to Zena, and she turned up with the rubbish bin lid stuck to her head. She couldn't get out of that one .
Zena has become a much loved member of our family, however she can be hard to get out of bed on a cold morning.
Thanks, Rochelle R

I just thought you'd like to know how 'Fly' is getting on. We have renamed her Rocket - which everyone who meets her agrees is very suitable :-)
She has fitted in very well here. The cats are still not that sure about her - but getting better all the time. Spike will sleep on out laps when she's sleeping on her bed in the living room, so definitely progress. We think she might be part cat as she is very flexible and likes nothing better than to sleep in the sun.
Actually I think what she likes better is to run. She has been very well behaved at the paddocks where I keep my horse - waits while Sugar eats her dinner - then it's her time to run around, fetch the ball, jump over the jumps, burn off some energy. In the weekends we go to the local farm park, where dogs can be off the lead - she has been great with other dogs, joggers, cyclists etc.
We took her to dog obedience on Tuesday night - the instructor couldn't belive we'd only had her just over two weeks. I have been continuing her clicker training with her - she can do; sit, down, wait, up, over and stay - just not in all circumstances. The obedience class is more traditional teaching, which I'm not so keen on, but it's a good chance to practise with lots of doggy distractions.
Currently she is curled up in a small ball on her bed looking very happy.
So thank you for all the hard work that has gone into her, and I hope you can keep finding homes for all the other animals that need them.
Regards
Anna and Ben
