Saturday 23rd and Sunday 25th of April students of the Midlands region competed in the Regional competition that was held in Gisbourne.

A special mention for Clint King from the Waikeria Hawks who scored 4 golds. Also Te Awamutu's best student was Greg Dyson with his open Black Belt Patterns Silver just behind Tournament winner Clint King.
